Question cubase sx3 volume problems

I was just wondering if there is a way to turn my mic volume up inside of cubase. I have my firewire mixer hooked up and on it's dial it shows that my volume is up the highest without clipping. But in cubase it reads that it's low even when I turn the assigned mixer dials to the max.

Has anybody else ever had this problem, and is there a way to turn my volume up without turning my external mixer up to where it reads it's clipping?

What outputs are you using on the mixer to get to the interface or computer?

Sounds like you may be sending the signal from the incorrect output, possibly.

You have a manual for the mixer? Does it have connection settings?

Is there a software mixer for the firewire interface? Sometimes the interface software includes a mixer of sorts where you can set default input/output levels. Try looking for it in the Windows Control Panel or in Cubase under Devices>Device Setup>VST Audio.

The mixer im using is Phonic Helix Board 12 Firewire MKII, and it doesn't have a software mixer. My outputs are set for my cpu's since my speakers are hooked up there and my inputs are set for the phonic mixer. I tried different inputs, but this is the only one assigned and that works. I don't see any input/output settings for the mixer other than those, and I turned those all the way up. Sound is still low, not even jumping pass the third bar... I think that answers all the question. Preciate yall.

So you are using your computer speakers for monitoring?
Did you go into the Windows control panel for sounds /volume?

I guess I'm wondering why your monitors aren't hooked up to your mixer? You have main and control room jacks for monitoring purposes, as well as the earphones jack.

Naw I got studio monitors, but they serve as my computer speakers too. I don't have my mixer on all the time, and I need my monitors for my day to day cpu shit, reasons, you tube, myspace, etc. Lol.
