im having the same problem with cubase sx 3 and my motu, i have 3 gigs of ram & dual p 3.4 ghz processor and a sata 250 gig hd, buffer is set high, after about 60 seconds of playpack of a heavy mixing session the cpu meter starts spiking and i start to get heavy stuttering, i used it in heavier way before with less ram and no problem,, i think it may be a direct x problem or driver conflict of some sort but i dont know what to do, i since updated direct x but nothings working, any ideas?

Are you using any plugins? I used to use this master limiter... can't remember who made it but it was a reputable company who was giving away this freebie. Anyway, it made my CPU spike after a short period too. I stopped using it and haven't had the problem since. If you are using any plugins, try disabling them. If that solves the problem, introduce them back one at a time until you find your culprit. Could be a CPU management problem or something like that. If that's not it, does it happen on all songs? Do you defrag your hard drive regularly? Real time anti-virus turned on? |
