Default cubase side-chaining

I am quite new to production and am quite primitive in the fact that I am using cubase sx2. If anyone could help me by explaining how to sidechain a kick drum and bass synth for a daft punk/pumping/electro/house style sound, in this program, then I would be very grateful
Cheers

I wouldnt' call Cubase SX3 "primitive". I'm still using Cubase SX3 because it's just that damn good and I don't feel like I need an upgrade.

You need specific plugins to do it. The stock Cubase plugins will not do it. This is something I've always wanted to get into but never have. I wish I could be of more help.

AH HA! I vaguely remember "Quadro" or "Quatro" busses when I reach the manual a few years ago. That was what I was missing. I'll be trying this today.

I just tried it out. Very interesting. I wouldn't say it's life changing by any means but in addition to being a cool trick, it does have some legitimate uses in a typical mix. Pretty cool.
