Cubase LE4 stuff

Hi all,

I just got a Tascam US-1641 for Christmas. It was bundled with Cubase LE4. Up until this point I have been using Cakewalk Guitar tracks pro 3 - and love it, but thought I would load Cubase just to see - keep an open mind - and give it a whirl. Well, so far no bueno. I got it loaded and possibly registered - possibly. So, I want to take this puppy for a test spin and what would be better than loading the demo song? Should be simple right? Double click on the demo and it should open (that's how easy it is in cakewalk) - but no dice - this is a text only file. Huh? Did I just install MS Word???? Well crud. I investigate the rest of the disk and find tutorials. Sweet! They made tutorials to get me going..that is cool. Well, uh, double click and...text only file!?!? Dern, I need a tutrial to open the tutorial. So, I start looking and searching on the web and on Cubase's site/forum. I couldn't find any help. There was one thread about this same subject (thank God I am not the only dork who can't open the tutorial) and unfortunatly it was as clear as mud.

So, any of you know how to open the turorial or sample project? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I also just got a US1641, and am using LE4, haven't bothered trying either of those to be honest with you, i've just checked out tutorial videos on youtube that have probably been more help than anything steinburg would have offered... just try that.

my problem so far has been trying to add effects to my tracks. on the channel editor it wont let me turn on inserts for some strange reason, and I have no idea how to use actual effects TRACKS. Is there no effects on the LE version of Cubase 4 or something?
