Hello everyone, though I am not new to the world of recording, I am new to the world of Cubase LE. This is my second go-round with this product. Here is an issue I hope to obtain some help with!
I have a home built computer with more than enough to run a small recording session. I have hooked up my Alesis MM8, installed Cubase LE. My computer recognized the Mixer. I can change my default playback and recording devices in my Windows Sound/Audio Control Panel. I fire up Cubase and I am now lost. I RFM'd 10 times now, google till my fingers are bleeding and I am still at the same place. When I open the control panel for Cubase, my device is not an option. Windows recognizes it, Cubase doesn't. Any suggestions? |

First, are you on a Vista or XP system?
Second, if you press F4, are you not able to select your Alesis as the inputs or outputs? Brandon

I figured it out after much trial and error. It turned out that I had to unlock my hidden Files and Folders... don't ask me why, Ive never heard of anything like that. I got it up and running though. Thanks for your reply!!

Hi, I'm having trouble getting signal into cubase from the MM8. I can't monitor the signal or listen to any playback. This is what I did; I went under device set up, to the control panel and I pick the USB codec option for both the input and out. Am I missing a step, or am I setting it up right? And after I select the USB, later on it says no ASIO driver is found. thanks for your help

Press F4 and set your ins and outs. This is all covered in the manual.

thanks for ur help. I have another problem, I have a latency problem in cubase .When i try to change the sample rate from 44.1 khz to lower one to change the buffer size, it automatically sets it back to 44.1. Is this the right way to change the buffer size to fix the latency problem? thanks

You don't want to change a sample rate lower than 44.1. You'll lose quite a bit of fidelity going lower than that.
Your buffer should be changed by your audio interfaces control panel. Brandon
