Cubase LE 4 stopped working

As I recall, downloading a new Syncrosoft License Control Center fixes that problem. (You may need to start a new thread asking about this. It has come up before.)

As far as getting files off of a DVD, you just go into windows explorer and copy and paste or drag and drop them to a new folder on your hard drive.

You really need to try to record (and share) the details of your problem. I never heard you mention Syncrosoft before this.

i really appreciate you helping me out. im really new to computer based recording and especially cubase. i got quite familiar with sonar 6 but i had too many issues with latency and had to use cubase which i now prefer. is there anyway to not use the synchrosoft? or is it written in the installer for cubase?

Syncrosoft is the virtual license that replaces the need for a dongle. I don't think there's any way around it.

OK i tried to update it one more time to really watch and see whats happening. it said i needed to put the disk in and click "ok" to load halion, so i did and usually it says it could not be found so i had to cancel and nothing installed properly and the program didnt work, but this time it gave me a choice for its location. i chose the dvd drive. it then started loading. it loaded the first part of halion just fine but when it looked for the Halion one essentials file it could not find it and it gave me the option to retry or ignore. i retired a couple times but then i had to ignore. it finally finished the installation and it said it was successful but the program did not work anymore. could this be because i have not registered it? The hotfix did work without me registering it though, at least for a couple days it did.

Another strange thing, before when i would look at Cubase under my add/remove programs screen it was just Steinberg Cubase but now it has Steinberg HalionOne and Steinberg HalionOne Essential Set below it.
