Default Cubase help, i think?

I just recently got some recording gear and a copy of Cubase AI (it came with some of the gear) but anyways I'll be recording a track and randomly when I play it back I hear crackling and popping noises coming from that track only. Then all I do is restart the software and re-record that track and its usually fine I don't know if its my software,my mics, the mixer etc...

I guess Its not a huge deal cause it fixes itself which is nice, but it is an inconvenience that can be time consuming.

So... if anyone knows what I'm talking about and can help it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm running a macbook and I'm using a mixer that plugs in to my mac via USB, ive recorded from mics and straight from a keyboard and I have the same problem with both.

Depending on your software and hardware there should be a latency adjustment, make sure you increase your buffer size, that usually solves the problem.

This is usually a sign that the CPU is struggling and latency is often a part of this.
