Cubase & Emu 0404 no playback

So your soundcard works fine for windows media player and bells, dings etc. but doesn't work in cubase?

I found it.

In the VST section (which I thought was for effects only) one must activate/select the soundcard as well.

A restart was neccesary too.

Then I had only 4 channels working, but the 24 track template suddenly switches to alternating left and right inputs from the 5th input on. So I had to switch every other following channel to the left input of my card.

Only fight now, is with Amplitube, which screaches digitally like ringmodulation, even when used clean. There's something wrong...

Understanding that patchmix software is a big part of using an emu card.

I really like it now that I used to it but at first it was tough.

Setting up sends in patchmix and busses to match in Cubase VSTconnections and renaming with a coherent theme made things go a lot easier for me.

Hmmm, I have one plugin that keeps malfunctioning. Maybe it has something to do with this mysterious patchmix you mention...
