Cubase + E-Mu 0404 ASIO driver problem

Okay so everything is fine and dandy until when I go to "Device Setup" and select ASIO multimedia driver.


BUT when I choose the ASIO E-Mu 0404 USB driver, I can't hear the playback on Cubase.


What's going on?

Increase your latency settings to the highest level and see if you get anything..On my lexicon drivers if I try to push the latency too low it simply goes quiet.

I have cubase 5 with an e-mu 0404 pci card.

Ive got all the asio drivers set up but i have no audio in or out on the analogue connections ? !!/!/

any ideas ? im using windows xp.

Cubase only sees what you send it from patchmix. I think there always has to be one send, you can't delete them all...

So in patchmix you have a strip that's for your hardware input. If you don't have it create it with the star button on the left. You can rename the strip (mic, guitar, etc.) Add an ASIO send. Then in cubase VSTconnections you create an input bus and assign it to the send you added to the hardware strip. Now that bus should be available as an input for an audio track.
Then you do the reverse, create or assign an output bus to an asio strip that you have or create in patchmix. In cubase you will only have outputs available for existing ASIO strips so you have to go to patchmix and create them first.

Also you have to restart cubase after making changes in patchmix or if you know how to refresh the I/O in device setup before you can see the changes you made.
