Default cubase different tempos in same project?

Hello!
I use cubase sx 3.0 for live mix, dubbing that is I have 10 audio channels and mix them live on outboard mixer. but it's rather frustrating when I must wait to open new song again and again. So I wondered if it's posible to put few songs in same project but with different tempo.
Thanx

I don't understand what it is you're doing, so I'll stick to answering the question... to employ different tempos, use the tempo track. Ctrl T will get you there, or PROJECT > TEMPO TRACK.

There you can add different tempos wherever you like... different time signatures too. It needs to be turned on to have any effect - button in top left of screen, or on transport bar.

So you mean, put song one on the timeline, then later on have a different song kick in?? If so, then yes, you can. First, make sure that you are in beat mode (not in seconds or FPS or Samples, it makes the whole thing line Up much easier. Then paste in your tracks, keeping note of what measure the different songs begin on. Then go to Project => Tempo Track. Go to the measure you are on, and using the pencil tool, click on the point. At this time you can either drag the tempo up, or you can enter it at the top.

Hope this helps.

Hmm. This sort of thing is probably not the strong point of Cubase SX3 (you won't hear me say that often).

Oh well, I guess you can work around it.

I think you can also have multiple projects open at the same time, although only 1 is active at a time. i know because i sometimes open 2 projects so I can copy stuff from one to another. im not sure what the ramifications are on CPU power though.

You can have more than one project open, but switching between them is a bitch. With Vegas, I could just open up 10 instances of the program (one for each song on album, for example) and that sometimes had it's uses.

Of course, I'm usually using so much RAM that this would never work with Cubase anyway. Be design, Cubase seams to be less designed to cram out assembly line crap (in terms of music). Of course, this limits it's live capabilities.

Thanx for answers! that was just what I needed. I have 10-15 multitrack projects opened at the same time, and when I want to start the next one I have to wait(while on stage)for cubase to activate it. This way I can put all my songs with different bpms in one project and change loops on fly cool!
