Default Cubase 5 and USB 3.0 external HDD problem.

Hi everyone!I put all my Cubase sessions from USB 2.0 external HDD to USB 3.0 external HDD.When I load any of my sessions I start play it but I don't hear many of tracks sometimes I hear just one track. May be does anyone know what the problem is? Thanks in advance and all my respect to everyone.

Did you do a direct disk to disk copy, or did you export via Cubase the projects to the new disk ?
I have had problems doing a direct copy. If the logical drive letter is different Cubase can't find all of the tracks.

I would suggest using Cubase to export just one project to the new disk, and see if that helps.

Nothing happens that way. What helped me is I created a CD image with all my sessions and put the image to the USB 3.0 drive. I open it with Deamon Tools and Cubase reads from the image, it works but I can't save newly created tracks to the image I have to save it to the new created folder on USB 3.0 drive. All of old tracks stay in the image. A little bit inconvenient but it works. Thanks anyway.

What do you mean by "nothing happens that way" ?

Do any of the exported projects show up on the new drive ?

Yes they showed up and when I open Cubase loading the session from USB 3 drive it goes as usual, no error messages, all tracks are visible but when I start to play I don't hear some of tracks and there is a strange sound. Main output shows overload signal.

Sorry, I was using the wrong term when I mentioned "export".
I meant use the "Back up Project" menu action to copy the complete project to a new disk/folder.

Hi again! I did like you said I copied the complete project to USB 3.0 HDD using Back up Project menu option. The problem stays the same.To be clear I hold all of my session folders in one folder called Cubase Projects. I touched nothing with name of tracks, folders or anything else and returned that Cubase Projects folder back to USB 2.0 external HDD where it was before. All sessions works fine on that USB 2.0 HDD. When the Cubase Projects folder is on USB 3.0 HDD Cubase loads all of my sessions without any problem and nothing tells me if there is any error or something else and visually everything is on its place ( track outputs and so on ). But when I start play, a level meter ( green stripe ) of some tracks stays on the top and I don't hear those tracks I hear strange sounds. Sometimes it sounds like a crackle or grinders. What else I noticed that on the left side of the Transport panel there are two stripes. Left green stripe shows ASIO Time Usage and right green stripe shows Disk Cach Usage. This right green stripe level stays on the top and master level on the right is the same showing overload. It shouldn't be that way. It doesn't happen when I work using USB 2.0 HDD with my sessions. I think I explained all clear. A very big appreciation to you and everyone for concern in my problem.

    Strange problem.

You might want to check your ASIO audio driver selection/audio routing, and verify it has not changed.
Hopefully someone else on the forum can chime in, and give you some additional advice.
