Default Cubase 5 - Recording more than one track with the same VST instrument

Hi guys..trying to figure out how to record multiple tracks with the same VST instrument. After successfully recording one track, i then create another instrument track but cant access the same VST instrument from the pull down menu...its always ghosted saying it is in use. Any clues how to overcome this??? Can't find it in manual.

Cubase 5.1; Yamaha S90; PC platform.

Use the instrument rack in combination with MIDI tracks instead.

Some VSTi's can accept more than one channel input so you can have a track for each channel.

You can have multiple tracks going to one instrument(midi tracks like riciebee says).

But that might not have the effect you want, a synth can't do two things at the same time usually.

Create another instance of the plugin, or record the sound of the plug/turn it into a wav file which would free up the synth.

I guess you can do that with freezing but I'm not too up on that.
