Default Cubase 4 vs Cubase SX 3

hey all,
my first post. new in home recording. i started to have interest in home recording when i heard my friend's demo. at the moment i hv only my new line6 UX2 for start,laptop,guitar,bassist,sm57 mic & studio monitor headphone ..the line6 UX2 is supplied with abletton with limited feature but bcos i heard good things about protools and cubase so i opt for either those.. but since UX2 dont work with protools so im leaning towards cubase. at the moment im researching which cubase i need and i think this forum will help me... just as other forum i hv been in. .. may be someone can answer me whats the diff with cubase sx and cubase 4?
i hv no experience with home recording so expect no help from me for now lol...

The short answer is Cubase 4 is new and improved version. I'm still using Cubase SX3 and I'm very happy with it. When Cubase 4 came out, they didn't convince me to upgrade. (If it ain't broke...)

You won't find SX3 new anymore. You'll have to find it used.

They added quite a few features to Cubase 4, but none of them seemed like direct improvements to me.

Ha!

If you dont' have an audio interface, you may want to buy an audio interface bundled with Cubase LE and upgrade to Cubase 4. It'll save you some bucks. Just a thought.
