Default Cubase 4 mediabay??????

Trying to figure out the 'Mediabay' in Cubase 4. I've read the section in the manual several times but I'm as confused as ever.
When I loaded the 'Media Management' project (tutorial No. 9 on the disc) it opened ok but none of the audio files were recognised, although they were in the folder.
Also, does anyone have any ideas as to why I've only got one option in the filter section 'sub style' column - namely 'Hard Rock'?
Is it that complex or am I just thick?

I wish I could help, but I'm still happily using Cubase SX3.

Hey Geoff,

I'll be honest and tell you that I haven't played around with that aspect of Cubase 4 at all. I will however take a look the next time I'm in the studio and see if I can figure anything out.

Might be some cool features that I haven't been employing and will want to.

Thanks very much for the replies. I think the Steinberg manual confuses things. It goes on & on about all the things the program can do but leaves you feeling - 'yeah, but how do I actually do it?'
I'll get Simon Millward's manual. If it's anything like his SX guide it'll be worth every penny. Useful walkthroughs etc.
Yes Brandon I thought long & hard about SX3 but didn't fancy getting it secondhand.
Certainly C4 has it's irritations. E.G. the ruler pencil doesn't appear to operate within a range already selected, so if you're working on a range of say, 16 bars and you suddenly want to cycle a bar in the middle, you can't select it without going to the end of the original selection.(Please correct me if I'm wrong about that).
