Controlliing VST synth with drum MIDI

Hi,

I am using a MIDI drumtrack to control a VST plugin Synth (ARP 2600). I can get it to play the sequence but I can not record it . What I'm doing is : I open a VST instrument track and drop in the MIDI drum track. I pays as expected. If I record enable the track and hit record, it plays away but nothing is ever recorded to the track. Where should the recorded sound go to?

I'm not sure what you mean by that second sentence.

I would start by creating a new MIDI track. First beat on your MIDI controller and make sure that something lights up in the transport. This is how you know that MIDI is getting into Cubase.

Where should the recorded sound go to?

If you are working with MIDI, you aren't recording sound.

I'd recommend you read both MIDI guides in the member's only section as this will help you out dramatically.
