Default Clip copy and paste question

I have been trying to do some copy and paste with some clips to avoid having to track the same guitar part twice and I am able to do it. However, the time scale of where I place the clip only allows me to snap it in on the even second. For example, I have the clip start at 02:16:00, but when I try to slide it to the right, it goes to 02:17:00 but I need it more like 02:16:50. Is there a way to set the time resolution to allow the placement to be more precise than the even second? I am not using midi or any metronome on this track, it is just live music played the old fashioned way.

Can't find anything useful in the documentation about this.
Thanks in advance

Sounds like you have "Snap" switched on. In the toolbar there should be a button that looks something like this:

>|<

if I remember correctly (haven't got Cubase in front of me at the moment). Click on that to switch it off (should turn gray) and you should be able to move the clip to any time code you want.

Cheers,

I'm not sure if you recorded with a click using the Cubase grid, but if so you can also change the snapping to bar or beat. I think you can go into even greater detail if you need to but I usually use bar, beat, or no snapping at all.

Good stuff - I didn't use a click. It's too late now for this project as I recorded the solo from the beginning of the song in the middle with a totally different guitar and setup so that was probably better. I will turn the snap off and see if I can slide clips around with more granularity.

I wish I had used a click because I decided to do a drum track after the fact and actually had to play to my already recorded guitar parts. Talk about a loose feel...no one will accuse me of any quantization on this track, no doubt about it. It is a bit sloppy but in an endearing way.

Just as a follow up - it was the Snap engaged. I turned it off and I am fully elastic now with my clips. Thanks again!
