Hey all, I wrote a song that simply doesn't work at one stagnant BPM. Let's just accept that as a given. It varies between 141 and 161 BPMs (speeds up in the choruses, slows down in the bridge, etc) I need to play along to a click track when I record this song. In Cubase SX3, how does one construct a click track that is able to speed up and slow down? If this feature doesn't exist on Cubase SX3, where can it be purchased, and what is the best software to use? I greatly appreciate your help! and a happy thanksgiving to all ![]() -Jeff |

OK, so I did further research and discovered Cubase's time warp feature. I was excited to hear about this, but when I looked it up how to use it in the instruction manual, the explanation was quite difficult to understand. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that you must first play your song without using a click track, then construct a MIDI click track around your song to match the tempo changes. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of a click track in the first place? (seeing as how the click track i'll be constructing is based off an imperfect performance) Is this "time wrapping" feature the solution to my problem? If there is an easier way, could someone please let me know? Thanks! |

I'll try and remember, jj. It may not be until Saturday though, so I'm hoping one of the guys who have their Cubase manual handy can maybe pop in and give you a hand faster. ![]() or at least give you a "yes, it can be done for sure" or a " no, Vulc is on crack again "...

Well the midi click track will follow the tempo. You can set up tempo changes with the tempo track (ctrl-T). You can use drawing tools if you need to. The warping thing is a tool for changing audio files. |

I don't have Cubase installed at the moment, but isn't the Tempo Track feature located in the Projects menu?. I think from memory you also need to have to enable "Track" in the transport panel as apposed to "Fixed".

see if ctrl+t opens up any possibilities. if you see "tempo" in the transport bar, click it to change it to "track" (i hope i remembered that right)
