Default Can't get external sequencer to start with cubase

I cannot get cubase to start the MPC 1000 when I press play/record in cubase. THis worked fine for me until I added the emagic amt8 (8in/8out) midi box. I needed to add the emagic because I had too many synths and was experiences midi glitches such as program change sends etc... held notes and all of that stuff. With the emagic thing, I can play out on all the channels (8) at the same time which didn't work with the daisy chain method. Now I am also using the presonus firebox as an audio interface. Before I got the emagic thing, the firebox was starting and stopping the MPC no problem. How can I fix my problem. Either by getting cubase to send a start signal through the emagic and into the MPC, or by using the presonus firebox. (like i did before)
Any help is appreciated...

I used to have an amt8, it can do more if you use logic but is still a good interface.

Your MPC is setup like it was? so it's set to recieve clock or mmc or whatever. You might check how it's configured as far as sync goes.

On the transport menu is sync setup, you have to send midi clock to the port where your mpc is, that should get it to work. If that doesn't work try the other sync methods like mmc.
