Bad Mic feedback (Cuebase Le)

Hi Guys and Gals,

I have a samson co1 condenser mic going ito my Maya44 sound card.
Im a newbie (as you may of guest) and im trying to record vocals thought cuebase le..
But...

The mic is powering up ok and but I get this loud beeeebin sound recording and coming through monitors.If I turn the recording level down it to bloody low!!?!

can any one please shead some light on this

From what you said, it sounds like a classic case of audio feedback (i.e., sound picked up by a live microphone, is amplified, comes out the speakers, goes back in the mike and so on, creating that screaching sound). You can move the monitors away from the mike (or vice versa), or simply use headphones to monitor your performance while you're recording.
