I have created my first recording of midi and audio. Previous to this i have been just recording audio tracks. Before i used to use the "Audio mixdown" function within cubase sx3. Now that i have midi also (using "the grand" midi effect) it seems to take like over 1 hour to use the audio mixdown function? Am i doing something wrong?

I've been reading the site articles for several months because I've wanted to use recording to improve original material. The site has been helpful. For Xmas 07 my 3 children gave me a Presonus Firestudio with 8 channels and Cubase LE4. So I rushed out the next day and bought as large a computer as I could afford. Then it was off to MusiciansFriend for some AKG condensor mics to replace my old stage mikes. Years ago I did some studio recording with my band at the time. Now I'm in awe at how much there is to learn. In the last month I've used the equipment almost on a full time basis (since I'm retired). My aim (or pipe dream) is to again play gigs as a solo or duo act and sometimes use backing tracts. Keep up the good work at recording review. I've greatly appreciated what I've read. THANKS to ALL. |
