Hi ive been playing bass for almost a year and need some help/tips on a recording me and my band made. It is only a very rough recording and i already know we need to fix the timing and bass/vocal levels. I am using a ernieball musicman double humbucker and use my fingers. As you will hear there is that "clicking" like sound throughout most of the song. I am plugged in directly into an alesis and we are using cubase. Would it help if i switched the pickups? or used a pick? Also hows the singing? people from my school say everythings good but they dont know anything so that doesnt help. Some hard criticism would be useful so i can try to fix it. But anything would help, im just looking to learn
thanks. hopefully the link below will lead you to a site to listen to it...http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...5-6b06107a9e07 |

Hard criticsm? Great!
Gripe #1 - Myspace sucks!! The damn thing isn't loading. Maybe you should buy it for $500 million and improve it or something. Gripe #2 - With a name like "Special Effect" you had better blow something up on stage. If you don't have an amazing live show (at least as good as Star Wars Episode 4) then you might want to change your name to Unspecial Effect. Just a thought Okay, I'm serious now. You've got some timing problems. Fix them by getting better. Everyone should be playing with a metronome on their own time. Bass is out of control in volume. It sounds like a deaf bass players monitor mix. Turn it down about 100 million db! Wow! I've never heard a bass that loud anywhere in my life. Your drummer is playing like weiner. Tell him to smash the damn drums. I'll tell you what. Remix this thing and I'll help. This bass is so loud, it sounds like someone is playing a joke on me. Brandon
