Default Is there any open source program that can take a midi file and output a textual repre

For example,
[Beats per measure]: 4
[Note per beat]: quarter
[Tempo]: 120
[Time signature] : D maj
[track 0]: {A0+C0}q (chord, quarter note, octave 0), { }, { }, more notes...
[track 1]: (the second staff)
[track 2]: (the third staff)
etc..

It doesn't have to have exactly that functionality.
A similar but somewhat inadequate program is MidiCSV

MIDICSV: Convert MIDI File to and from CSV

(The preferred source written in C).

I greatly appreciate suggestions

Sorry, don't know of any, but out of interest, why are you looking? What is the purpose of such a program?

I don't have a solution, but I just ran across an old program on my drive, while looking for something else, that is interesting. It's a two way converter mid to text and text to mid, so it allows you to make a mid via text.

Attached is the readme.txt from 1995. My directory is Tab2Mid and the two exe are mf2t and t2mf.

File Type: txt readme.txt (9.0 KB, 2 views)

Thanks for the suggestion, but I already have a prog that does just that, but it doesn't do anything intelligent with the midi signals, just translates it verbatim. But hey, its at least something.

I'm still searching for a program - it's for a graphical scorewriter project.
