Default synchronising Drum machine to Sonar 4

Hello people hears another for you....

I have recently borrowed a ION drum machine off a friend. THis drum machine is part of an electric kit and has one midi output.

What I want to know is how can I get Sonar to automatically record when I start the drum machine.

I want to be able to sync start both audio and midi.

Thanks

I've never heard of anyone doing this. If it were me, I'd hit record and then once it is finished slide it over so that it is in time with the grid. (I'm assuming that's what you are trying to achieve here).

I can't believe I didn't think of that!!!! But it would be interesting if anyone did know how to "sync" start. Perhaps it's one for you pioneers out there.

Thanks again Brandon

Yeah, I have wondered about this one when dumping tracks from analog tape or a standalone recorder into recording software. It would be nice for people with only 2 analog inputs to be able to get 12 tracks out of their recorder.
