Sounds and VST

Hi all, I am new to this kind of thing I have been asked to compose as soundtrack for a horror/ action movie. They requested a soundtrack similar to Resident Evil (the first movie) cues created by Marco Beltrami (not the manson ones) i have no knowledge of anything that sounds similar to instruments or synths use in the score. If anyone knows anything please let me know

And I have listened to the soundtrack. Also, I have emailed other people I know and the gave me the "you should create what you want do your own thing dont copy another composers style blah blah" but im only doing what has been asked of me.
