Default Some beat detective questions

Posted this on the DUC and didn't get any bites, maybe you guys could help me out...

So I've been messing with Beat Detective a little bit but I have some questions I was hoping you guys could help me with.

1. Should I be doing any pre-BD editing? So, on a drum track should I cut any audio that isn't that instrument? Ex-On a snare track delete kick or cymbals that might have bled into the track
a. When I cut a portion of audio from a track, and then try to cross fade the area, it brings back the audio I had deleted. Is there any way around this, or should I do two fades, one fading out and one fading in, instead of cross-fading?

2. How do I put Beat Detective across multiple tracks (I have the Music Production upgrade)? And if it's on a full kit should it be on low emphasis or high emphasis?

3. How do I know which groove template to select? Right now I'm just kinda choosing blindly

4. Will Beat Detective follow mapped tempo changes? In manual tempo I've specified where the tempo changes...will Beat Detective recognize this?

These are all good questions. I've never used Beat Detective at all, but I can answer one of the questions.

Yes, the guy in the video I have did this, if my memory serves me well.

Thanks, dude. Yeah, I got Beat Detective awhile back but never really got around to learning how to use it. In the right hands I've heard some AMAZING results from Beat Detective. Abso-fucking-lutely-mazing what this guy did to tighten up some tracks a buddy of mine did. Really made it go from demo quality to record quality. He was also a wizard with Autotune.

My goal before buying ANY MORE gear is to learn
Autotune, Beat Detective, and drum sampling like the back of my weiner

If I knew anything like the back of mine, I'd be super rich, I think.

Funny this comes up in a thread about beat detective...

I think you folks are setting me up too well.

It would be a crime if I didn't "bring up" this dick joke fiasco.

Have I seen the Bog Show? Are you crazy! I used to be addicated to game shows when I was a kid.

I'm assuming I just got the gong. Good, after reading that today I was going to do it myself!
