Default Silly question, is there any way to...

Okay, I don't think this is possible, but I have to ask. Is there any program that I can use to "extract" drum tracks from an MP3 file into a MIDI sequence. I've been using Guitar Pro to build my drum tracks, then I use FL Studio to put them into ezdrummer, and it just takes forever. I'm working on a project taking modern rock and metal songs and making them into acoustic covers. Think MTV Unplugged, only less of a "live" feel. I'm going to get various members of the bands I've been in to get in on this, but I want to have the tracks pretty much laid down before I get that far. One of the most time consuming parts of the whole process is getting the drum timing perfect, and I'm not so good at recreating the fills. They never sound realistic. Any suggestions?

In a word, "NO". If you had an audio track with drums only there are programs to turn that into midi but it's a lot easier to just get the midi.

Since you build your own tracks you can create a library of beats and fills from free midi files on the internet. Then just put them together and tweak them to your needs.

EzDrummer can act as a librarian. You can create folders and put your files in there and access them with drag and drop just like the EZfiles. Just put them where EZ keeps its files.

Ya, I spend my time looking for MIDI on the web. I can extract the drums and tweak them as needed.

hmm, why did I never think about that, lol. I suppose that would be way easier! Do you guys have any good resources you could point me to? I thought I heard somewhere that there was some kind of plugin or wrapper for FL studio that would extract drums from an mp3 file, Drumagog maybe? Never actually used it and really don't know what it is, but I heard it somewhere. That's what sparked the initial thought. Anyways, thanks for the idea! I'm off to search for beats!
