Program to convert drum tab to MIDI?

I'm the guitarist and basically engineer for my band. We have a drummer but right now are not in a position to record actual drums so we're using MIDI but I still want him to be writing the drum parts. He can write both tab and notes though tab is obviously easier to write and I need a program that can convert what he writes to MIDI.

Any suggestions?

If you use any of the cakewalk products and enter notes on a staff and then
say its midi channel ten, when you play it - it plays on a kit.
I use sonar and i can set midi output on a track to internal (crappy built in sounds),
to addictive drums (separate purchase) or I send it out to my synth a roland and
record the audio that comes back.

Does your tab doohickey have an MIDI export? That would be ideal. You just import into your recording software and start triggering the samples.
