Problems with Hypersonic 2 on Cubase 4.1.3 on Mac

Hi Peeps
I desperately need some help. I bought a mac and all legal cubase 4 with the latest updates and Hypersonic 2, with the idea that my performance problems will be something of the past.. But Nooo.

Hypersonic seems to be very slow when using it with cubase 4.1.3. However, when I look at my activity monitor of the mac itself, the cpu's are only 10% to 20% utilized. It's a Mac Pro Quad Core with 3Gig RAM and Leopard - Roland Edirol external card. I've adjusted the latency on cubase which helps the computer to not drop sound, but the performance is still really bad, as if the computer does not have enough resources to process everything. As soon as I take hypersonic out of the equation, then everything is fine again.

I'm really lost as to what the problem could be and need help. Not even the sales people of Hypersonic is willing to look at the problem.
