Angry Only one voice playsback

Help, I'm having a problem with MIDI. I am using a Roland XP30 keyboard to sequence music on Cubase SX The problem is that after recording on midi channel 1 then recording on midi channel 2, when I play back what I've recorded all sequences default to midi channel's 1 voice. The only other channel that will playback its own voice is midi channel 10 (drums). So, I may end up with 5 midi channels playing different sequence with the same voice. Also after recording on midi channel 1 the voices cease to change via the computer. I've placed all of the voices in Cubase, have upgraded my midi interface, uninstalled and re-installed Cubase SX, pulled my hair out of my head, to no avail. I've previously used Logic and it totally stopped playback. I then went to Cubase and completed several songs. I did upgrade my OS from Win98 to WinXP a few years ago. Is this the problem? Thanks in advance with any help anyone can give. It's bumming out my creativity.

Do you have the midi output from each track routed to the correct vsti ?
Midi track 1 output routed to synth A, midi track 2 output routed to synth B, etc...

Ya, you really need to do some MIDI homework. Channels and instruments selection are pretty basic. You might try operating without vst for a bit while you figure this out.

Oh, I have some suspicion of some VSTi not being able to hold individual instruments in multiple instances.

So.

You've talked about playback...What is your play sound module? The keyboard? Or your using a VSTi?

>>I've placed all of the voices in Cubase<<

How did you do that, exactly?
