Default New Toy: Midi question

Hey everyone...

I have a TASCAM US-122 with Cubase LE. I am a guitar player and have been recording a few songs. For my Birthday I recieved a M-Audio QxygenV2 Midi keyboard. I installed the drivers, plugged in the USB, launched CUBASE LE and...nothing. I see that the levels respond when I hit a key, but how do I get this connected correctly and more importantly get sounds. Are there not sounds build into Cubase or included on the device??I would really appreciate some help as this was a gift from my wife and she really wants to see me using it!

Thanks

Read up on VST instruments. You need them to hear sounds. Cubase comes with a few, you can get a whole bunch of freeware ones at KVR : Virtual Instruments, Virtual Effects, VST Plugins, Audio Units (AU), DirectX (DX), Universal Binary Compatibility - Audio Plugin News, Reviews and Community

The Oxygen8 does not have its own sounds. It's known as a controller keyboard or MIDI controller.

Thank you very much!

I am having difficulty connecting MIDI the device manager.
I added the Oxygen as a a GM or generic MIDI device. I then
add the OXYGEN as the input / output device, but I still have no sounds!
Any help with this issue?? I would appreciate your guidance.
