Default Need a program to invert panning of samples

I'm looking for a program that can invert the panning of some of the samples I'm using. I'm not sure if I'm wording this the right way, but basically I have a few samples that are panned exactly backwards of how I'd want them to be. If I pan them in my DAW then I loose a lot of the sample's sound that's the most important.

I have both mac and pc so platforms arent a problem. I also have audacity and logic express. If either of them could be used for such a thing, I'd love to know. Thanks!

Add the samples to a mono track. You might have convert to mono before, but the daw may do that for you. Then pan as needed.

clearly i am missing something here

send it out
switch the wires on the way back in
but
since you have two pcs
send from one
flop the wires going into the second one

channels reversed (inverted)
voila

guaranteed your sound will still be tight and not loose

That sounds like a good idea. I'm working with cymbal samples, though. Does this mono-then-pan thing work well for this kind of application or do they need to remain in stereo?

Depends on your source. Cymbals are often recorded using a pair of mics called overheads. It captures things other than just the cymbals for obvious reasons.

I'm not really understanding why panning the overheads opposite isn't working for you unless you have phasing issues in the recording. Try flipping the phase on the overheads.

Kelly Industrials Stereo Tools can do this.. It's a must have! I use it on every mix.
