Get a midi keyboard with its own USB port on it. Or Get a multiport midi interface. I find this the better choice. Your covered then for any future purchases.

I agree with the man. The Module is usually the end of the chain, but keyboards and such should have a thru if you want to do this stuff. The closest thing I have to a box is a joystick box with 2) in and out and a single thru. It came with a old MIDI software package.

Yes. A multiport interface just has more midi ports. I bought a motu 4in6out for $25 but then I had to order a rom chip from motu to get it to work on my PC, it was an older version that was mac only. Still a good deal in the long run. I have a box I would sell you. It's a motu parallel interface. So 4in6out but it hooks up to the parallel interface of your computer, if you have one. They don't put them on computers any more. But if you don't have a parallel port it's ok, you can use it as a midi expander/patchbay. So you plug two cables into it from your existing midi port, then you can plug in 3 more inputs and 5 more outputs and as long as your doing one thing at a time there is no problem. There are several settings on it that controls how it forwards the messages. I mainly used the setting that sends incoming midi to every port except the one it came in on. You can find this sort of deal on ebay cheap, search for midi patch bay.

hey tacman7 thanks for all your help. I found a way to acheive what I wanted from a post on CW forums. 1. Your MIDI keybord OUT port goes to the IN port of the USB interface. 2. The OUT port of the USB interface goes to the IN port of the Yamaha sound module. 3. The USB goes to the pc, of course |
