Default Midi Sequencing

First off I'd like to apologize to all if you have heard this before (most likely have) but I am pretty midi stupid. I will itemize below what I am attempting to do and would appreciate ANY advice.

I am using Cubase 4 LE
I would like to sequence mostly synth/piano parts as my band just lost our keyboard player.
Need this to work in a "Live" Situation
Don't want to do the portable MP3 player thing.
Have a Roland Juno G Synth and will likely be getting a Motif XS7 in the near future.
Can play some of the parts myself/have access to person who volunteered to play any complex stuff that is beyond my ability so I can record midi tracks ( No, they dont want to play in a Band, Teaching is their realm )
Tried a couple of midi tracks that I have downloaded, having trouble getting more than 1 track to play back as well as getting the "Right Sounds" I have managed to get Cubase connected to Juno G via midi and have been able to change sounds on the 1 track I have been able to get played back.
Would like to have 2 4 counts of a click at the beginning. First for drummer to familialrize himself with tempo, the second that he can use to count rest of band in.

I printed off both Cubase Manuals and while they are ok, they are not very comrehensive and don't explain things in much detail.

Hope someone can help me get started in the right direction. Many Thanks In Advance!!!!!

Default Re: Midi Sequencing

You probably need to have your keyboard in the right mode. They usually use all their resources to play one voice the best they can. It would have a different mode so that it could play up to 16 voices at once. Quality goes down some.

Getting a computer working in a live setup is something you just have to do by trial and error, once you get the software working the way you want.
