Default MIDI noise

Hello Every One

I am new at the computer end of making music but have played for many years. Love making music. Perhaps someone can clue me in on an issue that I have:

Using simple piano MIDI files I have been having problems with a ringing like buzzing sound as the note played tapers off. (Sounds like a mosquito stuck in old Fender spring reverb) It isn't just in Kontakt 3 (with Cubase SX 3) that this happens. but it does this with any MIDI playing application I use including when I switch to my wifes lap top. It sure is annoying! does anyone have any Idea what this could be and how to stop it. ....could this be a result of media players cheap midi synth interfearing with the process of using Kontakt 3's samples??? I am going to try a direct output to an old Korg O5RW today and see if I notice any change in sound.

Default Re: MIDI noise

This isn't so much a problem with MIDI per say. MIDI is just the data feeding your Kontakt 3 sampler. The problem is in how your computer is handling the samples. I'd make sure that your operating system is clean, your computer is fully optimized for audio (or using an dual boot system), and have looked into the DFD streaming options in Kontakt. This effects how much of the sample is snagged from RAM vs the hard drive and can greatly reduce performance issues if you have enough rough.
