well, to start off.. I used to have an M-audio midisport uno (pretty much the same thing as my E-MU) and I could just plug in the USB to power it and the "MIDI IN/OUT" into to the DK10 and the "IN/OUT" lights on the midisport uno would light up when I hit the pads...The E-MU "MIDI IN/OUT" lights won't light up at all.

all the info for the DK-10 is here:
DK10 Electronic MIDI pads

and my computer:
2.6ghz Intel dual-core
4gb DDR2 RAM
Windows XP 32bit
Line 6 Toneport UX2 audio interface
Cubase SX3

I'd like to jump in on this thread because my MIDI problems are still mostly unsolved.

I bought an Alesis Micron synth used from Ebay. I don't have any drivers or scripts for it, people say I don't need them. Well when I hook it up to my computer, Cubase LE only sees it as "GM general MIDI" with an "empty" instrument bank.

I downloaded a freeware called MIDIox for the purpose of sending & receiving sysex files to my Micron. (that would be new patches, saved patches, etc.) Nope. Still no go. I press the "send/receive" button & follow all the instructions. The messages are sent... but nothing ever receives them.

Specs: I have a Lexicon Lambda interface hooked to my computer via USB. I think the midi device manager calls this "MIDI UART". This device has MIDI in/out jacks which I then cable up to the Micron. Somewhere in this chain of devices & ports, the information is getting lost!
