midi with an external drum modual

hi there i am having trouble gewtting my edirol pcr m80 to read midi from my alesis drm5(in tracktion 2)

i have tried just about everything i could think of to get this to work.

if anyone has any exp woith this set up any help would be appreciated

i have programmed tracktion to be ready to read the dm5. i turned the midi intrenal conntroller off so it is ready to read it.

made sure that the thru is of all channels are set up correct i think

and no matter what i do i still just get the standard midi sounds

any help would be great thx

found the issue god damn vista and fucking with the midi outs

The only MIDI sound module in Vista is the crappy wavetable. You have to send MIDI to some MIDI sound module. That can be set-up for soundfonts or use a VST or send it to a hardware module.
