Midi Controller Problem

Hey.
I have just started to use computer software to develop beats samples and sequences. I have been using FL Studio 6 mostly, but have also had a go at ableton live.

During live gigs, i use a mouse to switch from pattern to pattern in FL studio. I know abelton would be easier to use... I have started to use a midi controller to effect out the samples within the pattern.I have purchased an M-Audio Trigger Finger and have used that.
I have just bought a new laptop. After installing all my software and drivers on it, i have found that all me projects in fruityloops and ableton (that used the Trigger Finger on) have changed on my controller, ie. pad #1 no longer triggers anything, Pad #2 now triggers something different etc.
Can somebody help me with this problem...? Also, is there a website or something that will give me all the introductory info about MIDI and using them in FL Studio and Abelton Live.

I'm not really up on the FL Studio world, but this sounds like a "map" changed. A "MIDI map" or "drum map" is a way of rerouting the sounds that the MIDI triggers hits to a different bunch of sounds.

I wish I could be of more help, but this map thing should point in you in the right direction.
