Default Looking For a Specific Guitar Sound

Here's a recording of a Guitar riff that I made. This is a rhythm Guitar riff for "I Love Lucy". The patch I specifically recorded it with is the Strattle Chime, made from the Korg Triton LE. Is there a sample library with a guitar that sounds just like this one, or one that has something similar to it? If so, what kind of guitar is this, and where can I find it? I've tried Hans Zimmer Guitars, both the Hype Strat and the JC Strat, but neither of them sound like the one I'm trying to find. Here, I'll put the original example side by side with the guitar that's on Hans Zimmer Guitars. Listen carefully to both of these, and see if you can tell if there's a difference in tone. The first one is the example of the one I'm trying to find, the second one is the JC Strat from Hans Zimmer Guitars.

You might post a short MIDI file of your performance so we can test our samples.

I would suggest looking into Pettinhouse's "Direct Guitar" for Native Instrument's Kontakt sampler. CLICK HERE for info (check out the "sledge funk" demo video at the bottom of the page).

I bought a copy and I also own a Triton LE. I just did a quick comparison, and the Pettinhouse samples sound very similar to the "Strato-Chime" patch on the Triton. The samples are more expressive than the Triton's synthesizer sounds.

As garww has wisely suggested, if you post the MIDI file, we can turn around and post some audio for you to check out.

The Triton sample is similar to a Stratocaster sound using both the middle and bridge pickup for that "out of phase" sound. Avoid any humbucker samples.

Sorry, don’t mean to be rude, but this does not sound like a guitar at all, both sound- and performance wise. A rythm guitar is strummed; so the notes in a chord are never all on the same starting point as in your example. They should sound almost like a (very fast) arpeggio (up and down, like the way you would do with a plectrum). Listen close to guitars and try to emulate their chops. Personally I think it is almost impossible to do a good guitar emulation on a keyboard, but hey: I am a guitarist...

If you need some real guitars for your songs, try the collaborations section: someone is probably willing to help you out > Heck, maybe I could help you.

I think you're a bit confused. I'm actually looking for a sample library that contains this specific guitar sound.

Sorry if I misunderstood you, man, but it just seems funny to me you guys are talking about strat this and strat that while what I hear does not even comes close to how any guitar in the real world would sound or would be played... If I heard your clip without knowing what you were trying to achieve I would never guess it was meant to be an emulation of a guitar riff, hence my remarks about ways to come closer (at least playing-wise) to a guitarists playing style. Well , never mind, good luck with your search!

All the best,

Aldo

I think many people would have just sampled the patch.

The only problem is, I don't have a Korg Triton LE. I was at school when I recorded that specific guitar part. And since I finished school this past June, with Straight A's by the way, , I've been doing lots of recordings at home.

I have not been able to spend as much time on this as I thought I would be able to do.

There seem to be some fair korg-like VSTi out there. I would probably, work off those patch banks.
