LASS - LA Score Strings

Hi,

Does anyone here use LA Score Strings?
I am tempted to buy; should work fine with Cubase Ess 4, right? Using the included Kontakt player...

Work, yes, but they have extremely high demands on your computer. So much so that the developers recommend spreading them over two machines. That's not to say they won't work on one, but you won't get much with 1G of RAM, or a laptop. Unless you want to invest in a powerhouse machine (or two), I would stick with something that your machine can handle.

Besides, even LASS requires significant work. Yes its the best strings out there, but I've heard garbage created with LASS just as I've heard masterpieces created with VSL and EWQL. Just saying.

Yep,

Spoken to Andrew. It will work fine on one computer once I upgrade RAM; will then use the full library only for starters, and probably the 16bit patches.
That allows me to get started while I organise the second machine...

Just an update,

Have loaded this and I love it. Using the 16-bit samples at the moment only, but can easily run 10 concurrent tracks in Cubase against backing music done in Reason and imported as wav.
I have a HUGE learning curve ahead of me - and I love those!
