Default KTDrumTrigger Timing Problems

I was wondering if there was some kind manual or tips/tricks section I've missed for KTDrumTrigger.

I've been experiementing with layering a brighter sounding snare sample over my close mic'd snare as an alternative to EQ. However, I've been dissapointed by the timing of the output samples. Some are way behind to the point it sounds like one of those flams (or whatever you call it when a drummer hits the snare with both sticks at nearly the same time). Obviously, this is unacceptable.

Any thoughts?

Brandon

If the trigger is always off by the same amount you could make a copy of the snare track to trigger the sample.....mute it......nudge the track ahead to get the sample to trigger earlier so it sounds at the same time as the recorded snare.
Cheers,
Ronnie

Nope, it's off by various, fairly random amounts. Sometimes it's early. Sometimes it's late. I can't say I understand it. I tried increasing the threshold, but that doesn't appear to have solved the problem either.

i had a look at the KTDrum Trigger site......seems to be lacking in info.....If you are looking for a free drum trigger I have used Drum Trig with good results...here is a link....

Storm Recording Studio / Craig Grove - Free VST plugins page

I figured that since KTDrummerTrigger is so popular that someone would have more documentation. Oh well. I still haven't figured out if the problem is KTDrumTrigger, Battery, or Cubase.

I'll give the link a try.

Thanks,
Brandon
