Default Independence Free (2GB)

Hey everybody!

I just thought I would alert you guys to this new VSTi called Independence, that has a free version complete with a 2GB sound library.

It's a bit of a long download, but their servers are decently fast and it can easily be finished in a couple hours.

http://www.yellowtools.us/cp21/cms/index.php?id=842

It has electric and acoustic guitars, same for basses, a bunch of excellent drumset patches, some world percussion, no orchestral stuff though. But all in all it sounds pretty damn good for a sample library. It responds to velocity very well too (a note with high velocity on the acoustic guitar layers performs a slide-up), and for the guitars and basses, automatically adds in the sounds of moving over frets to add a ton of realism. The drumsets sound really great and are already panned to their proper positions in a stereo mix.

So..yeah, go ahead and get your hands on this while it's still free!

I did download this, and I must say I am pretty impressed with the whole thing. Its FREE, so that adds the biggest thing to it.

It it worth getting? I was going to get it, but got put off with the fact that I had to give them all of my information just so that I could download it...so I never did it.

Lemme know what you think!

Jeff

I didn't have a problem giving them my information. They are a pretty big company (in germany, though), so I felt just the same as when I gave Presonus my information so they would send me a free faderport. I mean, what could a a German company do with my address? I am applying to colleges right now, and every piece of mail I got was from a place where I didn't give them my info (Name, school, address, grade, and email address), so I figured it was all out there anyways. It seems like a pretty robust VSTi (from how I have used it), and the samples are OK (I am talking bass and guitar). The problem that I would have is downloading over 2 gigs of library. It takes a while, but I think it is worth it.
