Default How to use Yamaha S90 sounds in Sonar?

Hey all!

Prologue: I'm recording using Yamaha S90 Es > Midi > Sonar 8 Producer edition. Most of the time I compose on my S90, then try to emulate the sounds using the Sampletank 2 VST. Sometimes, though, I just can't seem to find the equivalent sound, and I'm not much of an audio engineer so I'm not really interested in designing the sound from the ground up.

So, I'm wondering if I can go right to the source. My S90 is known for having some of the best samples in the biz. Is there any way I can use its samples via MIDI?

Thanks!
-James

Trigger the synth via MIDI and record the results with your DAW.

No !! There is not. Unless you have a emulator, or sample the sounds.

This is the usual solution and it's what I do. I treat it as a external sound module and just record it.
