Default Guitar VST

I'm looking for a Guitar Emulator VST. I don't have a guitar. I need that electric guitar sound I can play on my keyboard. I'm using Cubase SX Windows XP. Thanks

Maybe not the kind of answer you're looking for ( I play guitar and so am not familiar with any VST guitar instruments) but at one point I sampled all the notes on my guitar and mapped them out in midi (using a Reason software sampler). I could then play chords on my midi keyboard. Was a lot of fun and another way to get creative with guitar sounds.

If you let us know what type of guitar sounds you are after (clean, distorted, long rings, high pitch squeals, divebombs, powerchords etc) and what type of guitar (strat, gibson sg, bc rich etc) maybe some of us will attach some samples for you to use (royalty free).

Could be a fun little project everyone can get involved in (pending Brandons approval)

*Note: I meant in respect of attached samples possibly hoggin the forums bandwidth...or something other similar technical problem hosting a sample library could cause.

I use Steinberg's Virtual Guitarist 2. Not a really wide range of styles, but at least customizable. You might also look into Real Guitar and Real Strat. I've not been particularly impressed with the demo audio files, but users seem to really like it.

I wish my sarcasm could be illustrated with text. It can not. ha ha

No one needs my approval to do anything awesome.

Maybe it's because I'm a guitar player, but I've never really been impressed by any of the guitar samples out there. I'd bet a violinist feels the same way about violin samples.

You may check the Ministry of Rock, I listened to audio demos and sounds pretty powerfull and good Havy guitars with distortion. If you want acoustic guitar, i think thats easier to find. The hard issue about electric guitar its... Mutes, slides, harmonics, bends, etc... but this program seems to have it all. And it also includes bass and drums too...Just that is a little expensive :P
