Default Good Bass VSTi?

Does anyone know of a good Bass Guitar VSTi? I have a bass guitar I could record with, but the strings are ancient and I figure a good Bass Guitar VSTi would last longer than getting new strings (and more reliable to boot). Thanks!

If you already have NI Kontakt then you should definitely check out the Scarbee Black Bass. I love this thing! Extremely playable if you've got keyboard chops. I was always frustrated by Trilogy because you can't do believable slides but Black Bass.... you can slide all over the place.

I second Scarbee products. He has a few different bass VI's depending on your needs. I have black bass and red bass... Red bass gives you slap style as well as fingered. V.intelligent programming went into both.

Thanks, I'll have to check those out, but I don't have Kontakt. Maybe I'll get it

I actually got Kontakt for the sole purpose of running the Black Bass. This is the first bass VI that I've ever played that actually allows you to convincingly play in phrases rather than just playing a series of notes. You can gliss up by playing a fast legato whole or half step on the keyboard. Slide by hitting the sustain pedal. And the slides are *real* slide samples not just pitch bends. You can really hear the frets go by on these slides and the speed of the slide is controlled by note velocity so you can really time them to land on your destination note at the right moment. Sweet... It hink I'll play it right now... just for the fun!
