Hi I was wondering if anyone could tell me how I need to go about increasing the depth of pitchbend in Cubase 4? It currently seems to be set on bend up/down 1 tone - I need to bend to 2 octaves if possible... Cheers Paul |

This particular instance was using one of the HalionOne patches included in Cubase 4. For years I have used a Yamaha QY700 sequencer. I thought by moving onto Cubase I would be able to do bigger and better things - but it seems I was wrong. (In QY700, you just enter the voice edit screen, and enter the amount of semitones you wish to bend, and its all done...dead easy!) I have tried other patches, and they all seem to only bend up a tone - not good for writing brass parts that have portamenti all over them... Any further info would be appreciated (ps thanks for your help on the foot controller question!) Paul |

I can set that from my midi guitar setup - pitch bend range, also on some VSTi's I've seen a setting for it. Lots of info on the web like this: MIDI Pitch Bend I used to record the setting in my track then it can be changed when you play the track.

Still having no luck with pitchbend and Cubase. Forget playing pitchbend on the fly - lets say I just wanted to draw in a pitchbend curve on the Pitchbend controller lane in Cubase - I am still only allowed to bend up/down one tone - there has to be some way of adjusting this to allow for bigger bends (eg a trombone sliding up a fourth) ... There is a way of adjusting it. It's called pitch bend range. It's a midi message that I was talking about in my earlier post. I'll record one and attach it and you can try it. It requires a synth that can recognize it but most do. Not sure about Halion One, just have to try it.

My yamaha and korg hardware use 12. Attached it what it looks like in cubase, you could enter it manually in list view.

Yea, I tried several softsynths in the past and it was hit or miss if they would respond to pitchbend range messages. I think slynth did and hardware does. Can't remember if other sample players do much pitchbend.
