Default converting to mp3

i have a cubase project with both midi and audio tracks in it and i am using cubase sx3.
how do i convert it to an mp3 file?
i have frequented the internet with the question and it seems you have to record each track seperately but previously i have just recorded the whole thing and then exported it to an mp3 file. i am not bothered about mixing the song or anything its just a rough sort of thing.
any help would be much appreciated

File > Export

Set up the MP3 options the way you like them and away you go.

You only need to record your MIDI files as audio if you're using external devices. If all the sounds are coming from VI's within Cubase, you don't.

I found this sweet program called media coder. It switches between different formats. I know with my limited versions of Cubase (SE3 and LE4), I have limited MP3 exports (actually 0 on LE4, what I am using nowadays). So exporting the 44.1/16bit wav file and then converting that to MP3. If you can do it straight from Cubase, that is a better option, I think.

MediaCoder - more than a universal audio/video transcoder

You do FILE > EXPORT > AUDIO MIXDOWN. MP3 is then one of the options to save.

I think that in Cubase SX you have to register with Steinberg to use the MP3 export function. If you didn't register, or are using a non-legit copy, then you might be SOL.

I use Razorlame. It's free. It sounds good. It does batch conversions.

So i have been fiddling around with razorlame and i am confused as to what file you actually "convert".
Is it the cubase project or the mp3 you have already made?
thanks

Oh. Well Razorlame converts from wav to mp3. So when a mix is finished I always render it to wav. This is what the band will need anyway. Then I use Razorlame to convert that wav to an mp3.
