That's not a melody, it's guitar diddling.

You want guitar lessons.

It's not something that lends itself to midi. If you had the actual guy playing it and he had midi pickups on his guitar it wouldn't sound like that, it would be very plain.

I'll look at it tonight and see what I can do.

Listening to guitar parts and trying to play them is a way to learn. If you could get a version of acid or other software that can slow things down without changing pitch it might help you.

I'm not understanding the problem. You want to spend money on a mechanical solution to transcribe a melody with five notes in it but distorted by way too much effects-gunk? I have to agree with Tacman. That's barely even guitar playing. If it's fake bad guitar playing, even more ridiculous.

Well sure but that doesn't mean it's transportable.
That's what GM is all about and this couldn't be done with GM.

For example, here's an audio file I put together with a few synth tracks and midi guitar:
http://tacman7.com/AudioDemo.mp3

Now here's the midi I used to generate that audio file:
http://tacman7.com/MidiDemo.mid

Unless you have the same equipment and settings it isn't going to sound anything like the audio file. So much is FX/Arps etc.

You should be able to learn to play the part your looking for if you can get your synth to sound close to it and spend some time trying. Good for your ear training skills.
