Acoustic Solutions MK-928 Keyboard MIDI issues

Hello. I am trying to connect my Acoustic Solutions MK928 keyboard to my computer via a MIDI-USB cable. I am also using Sibelius 5 and Windows 7. The computer is not recognising the keyboard. It does not show up in Sibelius or Device Manager. There is no switch or button to change the output to MIDI, and I can still play the keyboard as though I have not changed anything. Could someone please help?

We've got a handful of areas to troubleshoot.

1) Is the keyboard shooting out MIDI?

This one is tough to test without other gear, but you can make sure that MIDI out is turned on.

2) Is the cable working correctly?
It's possible you have a dead cable right off the bat.

3) Is there something preventing Windows from accepting the incoming MIDI?
4) Is there something within the software causing problems?

Is this one of those $10 USB midi cables?

I've seen people have problems with those, I would go with a name brand interface.

I'm just suspicious of something calling itself a cable when it's an interface.

Download midi ox to see if your getting anything on your computer.

I think I'm going to buy a new keyboard and test that one out. It's time I bought a new one anyway. This Acoustic Solutions one is rubbish. I will buy a new one and see whether that works or not.
