Well assuming you've read the device manual, it's probably software. Yamaha is pretty straight forward and one doesn't see "problems" with Yamaha MIDI very often.

I don't have my dd-5 here, but the drum pads on the pss790 (Channel 10 recording) work flawlessly on Midi Orchestrator from 1994. Came with the Sound Blaster 16, I think. Opps, probably AzTech sound card.

Further, I got a cubase se with a used tascam us-122 because I am just now trying to do laptop. I got nothing, but the volume markers. I ran it again and got perfect. ran it again and get all channels on 10. I dunno : )

Ya, but it's rarely MIDI. Unless Yamaha suddenly went brain dead with the dd-60. That's why I point out that it(PSS-790 drum pads) worked without a blink in the old MIDI Orchestrator application.

The utilities we use to double-check are worth while - like hubi and ox, etc.. But actually running a basic application that produces sound i verification of special sort.

Further, I don't understand your pad "C" messages. Why is "c" sending ,messages ?

i used midi ox to check it.
about the c-1 message...good question, it's what i'd like to know.
i wanna be sure that it's not about any wrong setting and then i'll send the drum pad to yamaha

I would jiggle the box around, play the c pad up-side-down, etc.. The piezo trigger could be bad, but it seems more likely a wire or something. There is nothing very sophisticated about the Yamaha pads and the trigger from what I gather online.

I would work along getting a return authorization. I would bounce the problem off customer service - the interrupting false events. They may ship one out and have the driver pick yours-up at the same time ?

And don't be shy about including the forum messages as support for your claim.
