Default What hardware is everyone using these days?

It's something that doesn't really get discussed all that much, but I'm wondering what you guys are using for hardware? single stands, racks, a combination?

I use a bunch of old mix-matched stands but have been looking at these

anyone had any experience with these, are they worthwile or just a novelty?

btw, I came across this hardware system because I recently bought that kit

Random mid '80s Tama stuff. Original '60s Slingerland HH stand. No offense, it is a bit of a boring topic. Drums aren't my primary instrument, so it's possibly me not having enough enthusiasm for that part. I dunno, as long as they fold up and out quickly and the cymbals don't fall to the ground, I'm generally pleased.

BTW, the Gibraltar stuff looks cool. I don't know if I'd like it, though. Great concept.

i like to use my rack on my kit that i gig with my metal band because the setup never really changes and you have to set up/tear down quick. but on my kit that i use for multiple gigs i just use stands. racks are really good but don't physically fit in every gig situation.

that one that your looking at is more on the idea of single stands. it doesn't make sense to get a rack unless every part is all connected together, that way when you set it up everything is perfectly placed. you could do the same thing as that set up with individual stands and it'd weight less and take up less room.

i really like Yamaha hardware. the single braced stands are heavy duty enough, double braced stands are just unnecessary weight.

Yeah, not really discussion worthy, probably should have put this in the equipment forum now that I think of it.

Audiomike, I agree about yamaha making SOLID hardware. Maybe it's the fact that there hardware factory is also their motorbike factory
